New York repair shops, dealers and inspection stations — every license on one record
Type a shop or dealer name, or a facility number. 33,422 facilities in the DMV file published September 7, 2026.
Financing, insuring or buying a shop? A dated facility report ($19) — or a whole list checked.
What this is
The New York DMV licenses repair shops, body shops, inspection stations, dealers, dismantlers and transporters. Its file has one row per license, so a garage that repairs, inspects and sells used cars appears three times under three codes. This site puts each facility back together: one record per facility number, with every license it holds and the ones that expired.
Who uses it
- Drivers and fleet managers — is this shop registered, and for what?
- Parts suppliers, lenders and insurers — the shops of one kind, in one city.
- Shop owners — your own record and its expiration dates.
What it is not
Not the DMV, and not the license. The file is published once a year: a shop registered since September 7, 2026 is missing, and a license renewed since then still shows its old date. Complaints and violations are not in the file.
